At Tartan Rocket we pride ourselves in being able to provide any of our products in packaging that is environmentally friendly. Using ‘future friendly packaging’ is becoming increasingly popular, so we as a company are always searching for the latest cutting edge designs and eco logical options in this ever changing area. We have redesigned a list of logos that some of our packaging can display.

Sustainably Sourced

Sustainable sourced ensures, to the best of the chain ability, that products or goods that are being purchased have no or a limited negative impact on the communities and eco systems that they are sourced from.

Compostable Packaging

Compostable packaging is one that is made up of organic materials which can decompose naturally, resulting in a product rich in minerals and ideal for farming on a soil conditions, much or landfill corner. More that 50% of domestic waste is organic therefore compostable.

Biodegradable Packaging

A biodegradable product has the ability to break down, safely and relatively quickly, by biological means, into the raw materials of nature  and disappear into the environment.

Recyclable Packaging

Recycling involves processing used marterials into new products to prevent waste and potentially useful materials, reduce  the consumption of fresh raw marterials, reduce energy usage,  reduce air polution (from incineration) and water polution ( from landfilling) by reducing the need for ‘conventional ‘ waste disposal which in turn lowers greenhouse gases.  Recycling is a key component of waste reduction and is the third component of the three R’s of waste hierarchy

Locally Grown

Here at Tartan Rocket we place a strong emphasis on sourcing local suppliers for our produce.

Vegetable Ink Base

Vegetable based printing ink is made with vegetable oil such as soy beans or corn oil as the vehicle for carrying pigment as a substitutive for. Vegetable based ink significantly reduce the amount of GVOC’s (Volatile organic compounds) released into the air during printing.

Corn Starch Not Plastic

The usually plastic windows in packaging, is now being replaced by cornstarch. This helps reduce our relance on petroleum based products. As cornstarch  is completely biodegradable in a biologically active environment.
